FOR MEN: Check yourself!!!

Right off the bat, let me make a statement that is as true as it is universal, "we love life". As obvious and silly as that may sound it still rings true. Granted, a few people may get frustrated with life and jump off a building but the fact remains that for every 1 person that want to part with life, a 100,000 more would literally cling to it with their dying breath! An old adage says "health is wealth", so it amuses me when I look around me and see people blatantly take their health for granted. I had this friend named Simon a few years back, simon was your regular fun loving guy who was always happy and wanted everyone around him to be too so you can imagine my surprise when I went to his house one day and saw my friend crying, it turns out that simon, while rubbing himself down after tking a bath a few years before, he had discovered a swelling in his left testicle which he ignored as not that big a deal because intially there was no pain. He ignored this swelling till it became a cause of great discomfort to him and by the time he saw his doctor, he was diagonised with testicular cancer and due to its advanced stage, its treatment became a complicated process and the damage caused by the cancer ment he was rendered infertile. Simon's situation mirrors that of a lot of people the world over, people just do not pay that much attention to their health. Below, I will highlight four crucial symptoms men should look out for to ensure good health. 1. MOLES: We all know what moles are, some of us even have a few. Moles generally are not cancerous growths but people with moles should keep a watchful eye on them. When an already existing moles starts to itch or undergoes either a change in pigmentation or shape/size, it could signal a change from a mere harmless mole to an attack of skin cancer. If your moles undergoes changes, visit your doctor to have it checked. To avoid a case of skin cancer, it is advisable to avoid direct contact with the sun between the hours of 11am and 3pm when u.v rays are higher or use a good sun screen lotion 2. HAVING TROUBLE URINATING: This is not normal. Most men take this to mean nothing but if you have trouble urinating it may be because your postrate gland has grown in size due to what is known as postrate cancer and this gland when enlarged presses down on the tube which channels pee from the bladder. Other symptoms of postrate cancer may include frequent urination at night, a burning feeling or pain when trying to urinate. Visit your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. 3. DEPRESSION: If you often find your self in deep overbearing sadness, there is every chance that you may be suffering from depression. Depression is not just an imagined illness, it is a real sickness with real symptoms. Women are more prone to depression but men tend to commit sucide because of it. Work related stress, financial problems and emotional discomfort may all lead to a state of depression. Depression usually affects the victims social relationships and can also have a negative effect on the sufferer's sexual health and capacity, it is treated with a combination of therapy and drugs. Please see a doctor if depressed. 4. IMPOTENCE: Though most men would not admit it, at least 1 in every 300 would have had trouble getting an erection between before they are 30years old and between 45 to 55% of men 40 years and above must have had the same problem at least once in their life time. It becaomes a cause of concern when the problem is sustained over a period of time. Impotence should be taken serious and checks should be made with a doctor as this could be a symptom of diabetes, high blood pressure or heart related problems. It could also be an indication that the individual's weight has spiraled out of control. Drugs like viagra and other sexual performance enhancing drugs could be used to cure this but something as simple as a change of lifestyle, healthy eating, exercise and weight loss could also act as a cure for impotence. Thank you for reading, till we meet again, stay healthy!!!
